The princess Diana's engagement ring consisted of a 12 carat oval blue Ceylon sapphire and set with 18 carat of white gold and 14 diamonds surrounding the sapphire. Princess Diana chose this ring and started the trend of engagement rings with sapphire because before that every one used to give diamond rings, but princess Diana took the sapphire ring. The ring has its name and is called the Marguerite.
